About 2 weeks ago, some dog came to our house repeatedly for about 4 days, and we had to call animal control. It turns out they are kept until they go insane, and the reason they say that is because the animals go insane in their cages. My mom didn't like that, so she attempted to get him out, and we couldn't, so we sponsored him. We gave about 6 fliers to people across town (Mainly at pet related places), and someone at a grocery store JUST got a new house, with 2 acres of property. She said if nobody else took him, she would. Last night she called us, and said my mom can drop him off after she got off work today. My mom just left to take the dog to his new owner, and over the past couple days I've grown too attached to him. Oh, and we (kinda) know who his previous owners are, turns out they went to the pound to get him out, but they didn't want to pay for him (Even though animal control was so nice to give him needed things like vaccinations and such), so they just left him there. I kinda want to meet his owners, and punch them in the face for leaving their dog there, he would have died if it wasn't for us. We payed money out of our pockets (Which we don't have much of in the first place) to save an animal that we have absolutely no emotional connected to (Well, we do now, since we cared enough to pay for him, as well as find him a home, etc.). At least we know his new owners pretty well, so I imagine we can still visit him occasionally.
